Shelly is singing her way to mission this fall.
In October, 2011, Shelly will be headed to the Dominican Republic on a Mission Trip. This is a first in what is planned to be an annual effort. Check out her Mission Statement for this project.
Mission Statement
I give beyond myself: I help physically challenged kids around the world by providing access to the people, services, and equipment that will enrich and improve their lives.
Goal
I will make one mission trip each year to lend my expertise and talent as a Certified Rehabilitation Technology Supplier. I will collaborate with an existing agency that collects used mobility equipment to be shipped to other areas of the world where it is needed. I will work with others to fit, adapt, and modify wheelchairs and other mobility equipment as well as train others to continue this work.
When
In October 2011, I will take a one-week mission trip to the Dominican Republic.
How
I will perform concerts and sing at churches to raise funds to cover the expenses of this trip and to increase awareness of the need.
In 2011, I will work with therapists from Children’s Hospital and with Mission Emanuel.
